"Bridesmaids" is a comedy that was released in 2011. CAST Kristen Wiig - Annie Walker Maya Rudolph - Lillian Donovan Chris O'Dowd - Officer Rhodes Melissa McCarthy - Megan Price Wendi McLendon-Covey - Rita Ellie Kemper - Becca Jill Clayburgh - Judy Walker Jon Hamm - Ted Rebel Wilson - Brynn Matt Lucas - Gil Annie Walker is a mid-thirties single woman living in Milwaukee. Her bakery failed due to the recession, she lost her savings and her boyfriend left her. She now works in a jewelry store selling engagement rings. She rents a bedroom from Gil and his sister Brynn. She has a no-strings relationship with a guy named Ted. Her friendship with Lillian Donovan keeps her grounded. Lillian asks Annie to be her maid of honor after becoming engaged to a wealthy banker. At the engagement party Annie meets Rita, Becca, Megan and Helen, the bridesmaids. Helen and Annie instantly dislike each other. A few days later Annie takes Lillian and the bridesmaids to a Brazilian restaurant for lunch. Afterward they go to a chic bridal salon. Everyone but Helen, who didn't eat the meat at the restaurant, gets food poisoning. This is the part of the movie that I find really repulsive. For some reason there has to be toilet humor in some comedies these days. Anyway, while the others are getting sick, Helen picks out a dress that she likes and orders it for all the girls. If you want to find out what happens next, you will have to watch the movie. I always enjoy a movie with an ensemble cast. The scene where they all get sick still hangs in the air. The movie received positive reviews. I will give this movie my recommendation with the exception of the sickness scene. Is that fair enough? This movie is rated R (thank goodness).
