I don’t normally go into great details of the books I am reading, for the fact that I am reviewing them for Netgalley, but this Graphic Novel entiled Tamba, Child Soldier is one of those books I just must talk about. I definitely have to give Kudo’s to the excellent illustrations, and the subject matter, because that could not have been easy to pull off in a Graphic Novel, but this is one that is going to stick with me for sometime. At only eight Tamba was taken from his village and family, forced ito become a child soldier, forced to kill others, at only eight, he was forced to witness and take part in atrocities, watch others die, and he was forced to do things that no innocent child should be forced to do. Instead of gong to school as he once did in his village this little boy was forced to kill, and then years later at a hearing he had to relive those soul wrenching memories. T’ve read a few graphic novels, they aren’t normally my chosen genre, but this one just drew me in, and I think I will be getting a copy of this book, when Little Miss is older, I’ll have her read it as well. We need to realize how blessed we are.
