If there is one good benefit of using Facebook, it is to show acts of patriotism done by our brave law enforcement officials to show the good deeds that they do during their duty of protecting and serving their communities. Earlier this month, Nevada Highway Patrol Officer Jason Buratczak was driving in his patrol car in Interstate 15 North when he saw an American flag on the shoulder of the road. Buratczak whose relatives and himself served in the U S Air Force took time off to pick up the American flag off of the ground and took with him to give it to the local American Legion so they can retire it in a burning ceremony in the near future. The Nevada Highway Patrol are telling motorists to call them when they see an American flag on a highway since it is not safe for any motorist to get out of their autos to pick up a flag on a busy highway. It is common sense at work in this matter.

It's terrible it was there in the first place. I'm glad he picked it up and the American Legion will retire it with honor.

Jason showed true respect, especially since he gave it to the American Legion to dispose of.

My late dad was a member of the American Legion himself back in the former Canal Zone in Panama.

You are correct since my late mother who was born in Panama always said "Love the nation f your birth like you love your mother."
