The most joyous activity I often engage in is the celebration of the Holy Mass. The Holy Mass is the reenactment of the Holy Sacrifice of our Lord Jesus, the Christ. There are two parts in the Holy Mass. The first one is the Liturgy of the Word wherein the people listen to two readings, one from the Old Testament, and the other, from the Epistles of the New Testament. A third reading is from the Gospel of our Lord Jesus. The second part is the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The bread and wine, in the process of transubstantiation. become the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus. We receive the Host during Communion. The Host comes in small round and dry pieces of bread. When I queue in Communion, though, with the elderly before me, always, the priest gives me the cracked Host that he consecrated during the Mass. Though I know all the Hosts are the Body of our Lord, I do feel blessed when I receive the cracked Host that was consecrated during the Mass. The Communion, I believe, is the greatest gift our Lord has given us so forever He will be in us.

I feel guilty I don't get to attend the Mass daily, which should be the case. I used to do that when the girls were in High School and College. I think I have grown old. I used to walk the distance to the church. I cannot do that now. The Mass is the highest form of prayer. It's our Jesus communicating back to us.

@eileenleyva You can still be a good Christian even if you don't attend Mass daily.

@LindaOHio Once there was a lady who come in Communion time and she would queue to receive the Holy Host. The priest wondered why she never came on time for the Mass and right after Communion, she would hurry to leave the Church. So the priest had her followed. The priest learned that the lady dwells in an old bungalow that had seen better days. She hurried home because she had to feed so many children that had been abandoned in the streets.
