Donna Summer (LaDonna Adrian Gaines) was born December 31, 1948. She was an American singer, songwriter and actress. She became popular during the Disco era in the 1970s. She is a 5-time Grammy winner and has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. She is the first artist in history to have 3 consecutive double albums reach #1 on the United States Billboard 200 chart and had 4 #1 singles in the U. S. within a 12-month period. Some of her other big hits: Love to Love You Baby, I Feel Love, Last Dance, Bad Girls and On the Radio. She was active from 1968-2012. She passed away on May 17, 2012.
