Because You Are Enough, .....

You are enough Jane You are enough as you are Your strength of mind Your loving heart has carried you very far The serenity within you Holds within you the light The light of love Although you have known much darkness You are certainly more than enough I am asking you to be part of my life I am asking you to be my wife All my own words and I felt this was a very touching proposal as although its from way back for some its really still the same. The feeling that goes into it does not change not matter how much time goes by.
Edward tells Jane he's in love with her and asks her to marry him.

Very nice poem. I've seen Jane Eyre once and didn't like it. I liked this short clip. I'll need to watch it again and see if I feel the same about the movie.

It was the way life was in England for many girls of that age. Yes its true not all of them but when you were an orphan like she was it was pretty bad growing up in such delicate situations. Charlotte Bronte wrote it a great author along with her sisters. The last version of the film I have to say I did not much care for as it was very dreary with expressions like from whence thou hailest? Too top heavy and sombre. Jane had much light and joy and so did Mr. Rochester as characters.

@just4him I guess its because we knew the situation of what went on then at that time that makes it easier for us to get into her story as part of its real life. Charlotte is Jane in the book and Helen Burns was her older sister Maria that was in the same boarding school where she got typhoid. I have never liked Pride and Prejudice either its just a book I cannot get into and I have tried to read it and also another film that is out at the moment its just not me so I can relate to how you feel there. Everyone is raving about the film and me it leaves me indifferent. Thing is there see we had a very good television series on BBC1 at that age and we knew the characters from there also. My favourite author of now is Reay Tannahill although she passed on some time back her books are very good also. Charlotte and her sisters and brother lived a harsh hard life near the Yorkshire Moors.

@lovinangelsinstead21 I'll need to find a good version of it to watch. I don't mind that kind of language, but I need to feel the characters and the situation. I couldn't. It was the same with reading Jane Austin. She was 100% dialogue and no description with Pride and Prejudice. I like the movie better than the book which I couldn't get past the first chapter.

@amitkokiladitya Thing is the proposal in itself can be in any language you like really and the feelings are the same although they might seem different.

Do you think so? I guess it could be did not think about it like that really. I like the two characters and the fact that Charlotte wrote this story based on herself and her Sister Maria who was supposed to be Helen. In real life I feel she knew a Mr. Rochester its the theme she holds all the way through out most of her story.

I know two that are real poets. I find it impossible to write all that flowery stuff you know so much detail. I just feel like its a short story for me that´s all. Thank you.

We had to read those kind of classic books at School so it was inherent in us to be familiar with the story itself. She is a great writer and knew how to put the magic right in there.

@crazyhorseladycx Like the one who wrote "Little Women" that is a great story and the original film is the best one for me always the other series they make of it are too sad and woeful.

I love the old fashioned words and ways albeit in fiction just no other way for me to write it in this case. Writing "hey mate d´ýa wanna marry me" does not sound quite the same.
