A Safe Place For Those Who Want To Celebrate Halloween, But Don’t Want To Go Door To Door.

For a safe Halloween for your kids, my husband, a rather relaxed member of the LDS (Mormon) church suggested taking your kids to the local LDS chapel (Mormon ward) on Halloween. There’s usually a party, Open to the public, with non-religious games and songs, and lots of treats. It can be described as a secular and pure (safe, clean, innocent) evening. You will not get pushed to join the church, but if that one member tries, have an answer before going in. Are you interested in learning more? Are you firm in your current path? A clear “I’m not seeking anything new” or something similar, should suffice. “No means no” is a part of their “Doctrine And Covenants.” You can tell them that! Despite my rather long disclaimer at the end, I trust most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I also believe in being prepared for anything! Bring married to a member, I’ve been pushed a bit.

Many kids go to parties at churches and friend's houses around here.
