I can't believe how this all ended! Sweet birdy was showing signs of really wanting to be free so I took her into the small bedroom and let her loose. She flew from curtain rod to curtain rod and did not show any signs of pain. I had a small 'perch' stick in her cage and put that up under her...she stayed on it while I I brought her down to my level and put her in my hand. ..and walked to the back door and into the yard. I started to cry..But I opened my hand and she flew into this tree. She sat there like whew! now what! I was not sure I had done the right thing but there was no way to change it, so my instincts said get inside and let her regroup. She's been in an unfamiliar, captive environment for a week...leave her alone. I was not in the house a minute when out of the window I saw another bird fly into the tree....It looked just like Sweetie! and then another bird flew in! Then another! It was a flock of her breed of birds! they all flew in, talked, fluffed wings, pecked at the leaves and then...my heart sings....they all flew away together! It was like they were waiting for her! I have to say it felt like spirit energy was all around me. I cried and said thank you..Now and then happy ending do, indeed, happen. Farewell, Sweetie...thanks for giving me an amazing moment..
