31 October...a very special day.

Sorry for this late post. I could not be here in last 48 hours as things kept me busy. 31st October is a very special day for me. It's birthday for two special people in my life. One is the lady who gave birth to me and the other one is my younger daughter. So the whole day kept me busy with that. I had a good long talk with my mom on phone. My daughter takes a pride in sharing her birthday with her loved grandma. Whole day went in baking, cooking and a small simple celebration. And not to forget the ongoing doorbell rings in evening for trick or treat. My younger one is officially a teen now. She came as a blessing 13 years back. I remember the day I delivered her the entire hospital was in Halloween spirit. 13 years passed in a jiffy. I baked 4 kgs of banana walnut cake. So it took me three rounds of baking. She distributed it in her school and for all her friends back home. The picture shows the cake cut into pieces and ready to go to her school. Well it was a hit. Many parents later called me to ask if I take baking orders. Well I don't mind if I have time. So how did Halloween go for you all??

Happy Happy Birthday to your mother and daughter! My husband and his mother shared a birthday. That’s very special. We went to a fun and lovely dinner at our friends’ house with a few other people.

Oh that cake looks so delicious. And the kids must have enjoyed it all as evident from other parents' call. May be a Business opportunity??

Maybe. Never thought of it. Though I have done a few orders for friends and still do it if I have time. I put my annual stall of cakes, cookies and snacks in our Christmas event. I donate a share of my profit to the fund raising event.

I bake very rarely. But my daughters love it. They do it every now and then. They taught me.

Thanks for your wishes. Halloween is not an Indian festival but Global influences have brought it here. Though it's mostly unknown here.

Thank you for your wishes. Yes it would be a good idea to cater but I definitely need time for that. I can take small orders. We give candies. I bring a big pack every Halloween for these trick or treat children and youngsters.
