Because no one dare to cut this mango tree. Not even its branches. Why do they are afraid to cut? Because those who will try will got sick! So when the new road construction was made, not even its workers got the guts to cut the tree. Why it is scary to cut? Because this mango tree is believed to be the home of beautiful old woman ghost, a tikbalang (a mystical creature with human body but have horse head). These elemental creatures help Susan (her house almost beside the tree) to cure and heal people suffering with mysterious diseases. This tree still standing tall today in my city, in fact this photo is just yesterday.

In my old school, there's also a tree in front of the main gate that can't be cut... They also say that the one who cuts it gets sick...

Wow! First, I had no idea what a mango tree looks like. Also had no idea of the tikbalang - so do they help people that do well for them, and hurt people who do harm to them?

Oh see, mango trees are just so common tou can see them in every backyard of houses here.. Added information, we have so many kinds of mango of mango, the one in the photo is native or carabao mango- the sweet and yellow fruit which I believe the one being exported to your country. We have the kind of star apple mango, Indian mango, there is also very small size of fruit-just 1 inch, and the biggest fruit here is 5 to 6 inches in size. And other kinds.

Would you believe that the bestseller mango fruit here is not the yellow ripe mango fruit, but the budding green young mango fruit that just so sour. That fruit is crunchy and sour but when dip to fish sauce or salt, it just magical .
