Classics IV is an American band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1965. They are often credited for establishing the "soft southern rock" sound. Their genres are soft rock, rock and blue-eyed soul. Their talent agent suggested that they move from Florida to Atlanta. When they did this, they were signed to a record deal. The name "Classics" came from a drum set that singer Dennis Yost had. There was already a group called the "Classics"; so they added a IV to the name because there are four members in the group. Two of their biggest hits are "Spooky" (below) and "Stormy".
