Melbourne cup, the biggest annual horse race in Australia. I was quite surprised hearing about injured horses being killed after the Melbourne cup racing. (These injured horses are shot to the head from what i heard) Though this might not be a big thing for some as they don't see this any different from slaughtering cows for meat, some find this harsh as they would say that horses are like pets. With this, out of curiosity i asked what they do with the horse meat after slaughtering it and i thought that eating the meat would just be practical and a few people find it weird. But in reality, they would be using the horse meat as food for pets from what i heard. What do you think about this? Do you think having these horse meat on the table is weird?

piteous horses:(( I know they are edible but shooting them in their heads is kinda brutal.

But then what would be the most humane way of ending their suffering? I could not seem to thing of any other way.

It is a upsetting news. Perhaps it costs really much to cure the injured horses. I wonder whether these horses can be kept in the zoos. Or some farms will adopt them.

I have heard of using horse meat for dog food. Personally, the thought of it makes my stomach turn.
