Reboots

What is up with movies these days and even television shows trying to make a comeback. Are these writers really running out of ideas to make new shows? I even noticed that some of the storylines with current shows are based on what has happened in national headline news. Back in the 70's and 80's the shows were good but I don't want to see a reboot if it is gonna be stupid and be cancelled before the season ends. The same goes with remakes of movies. Why even try because you can't replace what was originally good.

I thlnk they might do this because of the younger generation. While I am old enough to have seen the original shows and movies, a lot of young people have never even heard of them. So they make remakes and the younger generation thinks its something new.

@Metsrock69 Yea, it's kind of sad in some ways how far they have went with things like that.

Yes, I have reading this in news... I am not sure whether it is because of public demands or running out of ideas and creativity but they should always remember old is always gold

There have always been movie remakes going back to silent pictures. The mania for TV reboots is fairly new. They think they can cash in on a ready made audience plus it is less work than creating something new.

Good point. Not just the writers but the actors as well. If you would Will Smith would you take a job offer for a remake of a tv show. With all the movies under his belt you think he might be looking for even more challenging roles or start directing. Did he have fun on the set with the television series.
