Do you have an opinion on environment action?
What did you think of the young girl that spoke at the united nations?
A young school girl leading a movement for change actually did go to speak at a summit in New York in 2019. "We will be watching you," said Greta Thunberg a climate activist.
All opinions welcome.

She has a sweet deal going getting out of school, traveling with her expenses paid, getting attention and meeting celebrities. If she truly cared, then she would take her "rage" (she comes from two generations of actors) out on real polluters like China instead of the usual scapegoat US but that's where she is adored like a goddess and socializes with celebrities.

It is a global situation and China is a larger contributor than the USA so true. To be heard however in China might require a Chinese Greta? Don't think her name would be Greta though.

I've read some attacks, I guess you could call them attacks or maybe it would be better to say skepticism on the youths mental capacity. I become someone skeptical myself at why people want to do that though. You are most likely repeating what you have heard or read what others say about her like anyone would including myself.
When I listened to her talking the first time I listened to the points being made and didn't discredit her just because someone reviewed her background and found something.
Do you think people talk negatively about her because they only wish to discredit her message like they would in a political campaign?
Thanks for your opinion. It makes me wonder what goes on in the background.

@mynameiskate No, I saw her make her speech and that was my thought from the beginning. I did look at some of the comments posted by others and saw a couple that had come to the same conclusion. Many of the comments were just nasty and unnecessary.
I haven't checked further into the girl herself bc in the end it really isn't going to change anything. She had a lot to say and perhaps is even right on many of her points, not everyone is a showman (thank god).
I think people talk negatively because for some insane reason it seems to be the easiest thing for people to do, otherwise they might actually have to think and do a little research known as work (heaven forbid). I don't think there is any logic or forethought in most of the commenters minds. They just open their mouth (or poise their fingers) and let the crap flow. Sad but that's our world it seems.
I've gotten to where I don't hardly pay any attention to anything that goes on in the media anymore. I could dig all day long and still never reach the bottom and get at the truth. So instead I mostly only listen to people who sound logical on their own merits and ignore everyone else mouthing opinions (I've got my own). I also try to focus on the message more than the messenger and if the message is worth my time I will look further.
Thank you for actually responding to my comment with something more than 'thanks for the comment'. Oh how I dislike those, lol.

I got an emotional appeal as well like as in we deeply care about this and nothing much is being done about it.

It seems to me like in all generations you get the good and bad but young people today seem smarter than I will ever be. At that age I was more interested in music and fun things. Didn't even listen to the news or knew what was going on in the world.
