They were a comedy duo that performed in night clubs, on radio, television and in movies. After their break-up in 1956, Martin pursued a solo singing and acting career. He was one of the most popular acts in Las Vegas and was part of the Rat Pack.
In 1964 he hosted The Dean Martin Show. From 1974-1984 he was roastmaster for the Dean Martin Celebrity Roast program. He made 85 film and television productions. Some of his hit songs: Memories are Made of This, That's Amore, Everybody Loves Somebody, Ain't That a Kick in the Head (below) and Volare.
Some of his movies: Some Came Running, Rio Bravo (pictured above), Ocean's 11, Come Blow Your Horn, Robin and the 7 Hoods, Airport and Cannonball Run.
Martin was known for his laid-back style and mellow voice. He died in 1995. A heavy smoker, he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1993 but died from acute respiratory failure due to emphysema.
