My boyfriends mom doesnt like gay people

November 8, 2019 7:16pm CST
I'm a heterosexual but I'm not understanding the mindset of my boyfriends mother. How can she dislike a relationship that shes not even involved in? What makes her think that the relationship between gay couples is even her business? Why cant she just let them be? I'm just confused as to how someone can be so against love. LOVE IS LOVE! You should be able to love whoever you want without having to worry about complete strangers having a problem with it. How can you hate people you dont even know?? I'm just happy I was raised by parents who taught me better than that and I will never understand the mindset of a person that goes through life daily with so much hate in there heart. What a shame. Thoughts?

A lot has to be considered in your topic. Such as nationality or the place where they originate, their upbringing also is a factor. Not all people are open minded with such relationship until now sad to say. Some parents meddle with their children’s lives for as long as they can. It is not just you that they can accept but also their son. You are lucky to have such parents that are open minded and supportive. I hope the day will come that acceptance and love will enlighten them. But if not, as long as you two love each other, I do not think there will be problem.

It's wrong to judge, there's only one of those and it isn't any one of us. We are called to love others. Also try to find it in your own heart to love your boyfriends mom and to be an example for her. Maybe she's never seen unconditional love, maybe you are the example she needs in her life. =)

I totally agree with you. Her and I are from 2 different worlds it seems and shes a little rough around the edges but I'm the only girl that she has ever approved of to be with her son so I must be doing something right lol

Troll her by watching LGBT tv shows and movies everytime she is around. Or Maybe make her watch a BL drama since women are like the number one consumers of those shows.

I am not sure how to comment on this, its individual choice, Its' better not to interfere their personal life. Actually, it depend on how it is socially constructed among the group of people and how they accept and reject this kind of relationship

Yes true, I guess I just don't understand why that type of relationship is being rejected? I'm not even gay but I feel like its wrong to discriminate against them. You're right though, our environment plays a big role in he types of beliefs we have.
