The Original Battlestar Galactica is better than the reboot.

I really prefer the original 1970's version of Battlestar Galactica to the 2005 reboot. I mean, they turned Starbuck into a woman for goodness sake! The part of Starbuck was originally created for Dirk Benedict. They created the character after meeting Dirk especially for Dirk to play. Even then, ABC I think it was, wanted someone else to play Starbuck even after the part was created for Dirk. But eventually common sense won out and, after a bit of wrangling, Dirk got the part! I am so glad he did because Dirk IS Starbuck and there can be no other! He plays the part so well. A trickster, a gambler, a womanizer - but you just can't help loving him! I also love that theme tune to the original Battlestar Galactic. That tune is so iconic. And they changed that in the reboot too. No. The original is definitely better. Some people might say it's very 70's. Well, it is, but I don't care, because it is so good! Sometimes the old series are better than some of the stuff they put on now. And ofcause I'm a big Dirk Benedict fan!

The originals are always better than reboots.

I absolutely agree. That being said, I did actually like the reboot of The Outer Limits, but that must be an exception.

Reboots of show these days have gained the joke "Go woke and go broke." since the updated shows change the genders of the lead characters for the sake of diversity.

I don't like it when they do that. It's not really necessary. If you need more female characters, create new characters, don't change the gender of some of the established male ones. Do you watch Doctor Who? If so, what do you think of the Doctor being female?

@sharonelton I have not seen Doctor Who even though I understand his character is well liked worldwide. A female Doctor Who is a joke. I agree with you that if there is going to be a change in the gender of the lead character, make it an original character.

I refuse to watch the reboot of Battlestar Galactica. When I saw that they cast a woman as Starbuck, I said, "No! Absolutely not!"

I'm glad you feel that way! There can be only one Starbuck, and as Dirk said Stardoe does not a Starbuck make!

I’ve yet to see a reboot that was even close to “good,” let alone “better” than the original.
