The Social Worker

Hospice didn’t show again. I simply left a message. So bright and early this morning the social worker showed up. No phone call, no appointment, just open the front door and come on in. I was in bathing my brother and thought perhaps my sister came very early for his birthday. It was 4:00 am. She came in the bathroom and asked what I was doing.”I am bathing my brother. Could you give him a little privacy please?” So she moved outside of the bathroom and asked why I was bathing him in the middle of the night. I said, “perhaps you should take a few minutes and read the file before you come through the front door at 4:00 am asking questions.” “As soon as we are done with this we will be out in the living room and then we will be having breakfast. Are you going to join us?” “Why would I do that?” “I cannot be sure why you do anything you do, still it’s rude to eat in front of others and he needs his medication and food right away. I would be happy to make enough breakfast for all of us if you are planning on staying.” She said she would wait in her car. As soon as she went to the car and I got my brother dressed he went and locked the front door. Clearly I am not going to have the day I had planned.

@DocAndersen No reason for you to apologize. I will just and let them know why their services are no longer needed.I can do this myself.

Oh dear I am horrified at this what you are having to go through right now. So very sorry and those aides sound like they have no clue of what is going on.

The aids have not showed up for two days. I guess it's time for me to just take it all on myself.

@Writingghost This sort of hideously abusive behavior by hospice care justifies a serious report to somewhere. Not sure where but this is unacceptable to say the least to a dying person. I am so very sorry!

The title is social worker but it seems to me her behavior is far from social.

@Writingghost That seems early for a Social Worker to show up at your home and then walks into the bathroom at 4 am. She sounds horrible.

What is a social worker doing showing up at 4 am anyway?

I am not certain - they do know we are always up at that time because of regular hospice.
