"Galaxy Quest" is a science fiction action comedy released in 1999. The movie is a parody of science fiction movies and series. It had a modest box office success with $90.7 million in receipts and a $45 million budget and was positively reviewed by the critics. It won a Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation (previously won by Star Trek in the 1960s), a Nebula Award for Best Script and was nominated for 10 Saturn Awards. It is considered a cult classic especially among Star Trek fans.

Galaxy Quest is a space-adventure television series that has been cancelled. The cast members spend a good part of their days attending fan conventions and promotional gigs. Nesmith is always glad to participate and be the center of attention; but the rest of the cast members resent him and find him to be egotistical.
Jason is confronted by Mathesar and a group calling themselves Thurmians. They ask for his help; and he is convinced that they are there about some sort of promotional gig. He tells them to keep it hush-hush and to send a limousine for him in the morning. The next morning when he's picked up he is hung over and falls asleep. When he wakes up he is on an exact replica of the NSEA Protector, the star ship from "Galaxy Quest".
The screenplay in this movie was well-thought-out; and the actors executed it with precision. The sets are good; and the costumes are good. The movie is funny; and all the actors take part in the humor. I give this movie 5 stars out of 5. If you want to find out what happens when the crew tries to retrieve the beryllium sphere, then put this movie on your list of those to watch.
This movie is rated PG.

I saw that one a long time ago. Weaver parodies her Alien character.
