I am sure we all have heard of the expression "A twist of fate." In this case a family who lives in Jacksonville Florida went to a local PetSmart to adopt a kitten when a dog that they lost in August of this year was being walked inside of the store. The dad of the family recognized his pet dog and called him by his name Dopey. Since dogs can recognize their owners, Dopey went to see his owners who showered him with love. The local PetSmart store had a free adoption event when the reunion of Dopey and his owners took place. The family who lost Dopey are thankful that a stranger found their dog and took him to a local animal shelter where Dopey was given lots of love and kindness in this time at the animal shelter. I do not know if Dopey had a microchip on him at the time when he went to the animal shelter which could have sped up his reunion with his relatives. Nevertheless, a lost dog coming home to be with his relatives is priceless not to mention a very happy event for both parties. It is not clear if the kitten was adopted or not since a dog reunion with his owners was the main focus of the good news story.

@Deepizzaguy That was something. I am so happy that Dopey came in the store the same day they did. I am so glad Dopey was treated with respect in the shelter. I hope the kitten was adopted.

I am also hoping that the kitten will find a new home.

Just with the photo and the title is good enough to warm the heart of a dog lover like us.

@Deepizzaguy I cannot imagine that we would lose our dog and then would get it back again. Last year there were 2 posters of lost dog in our community. I don't know if they were able to find those lost dogs.

@Alexandoy I am sorry to learn about the loss of your dog. It is a shame that your community has not been able to find your pet.

I think we might not have our dogs lost forever if we took care of placing a microchip when we get out pet. They can be traced that way.

@Deepizzaguy In my country now they have to wear microchips. But still not many dog owners care to use them. It is a too new law.

Microchips on dogs is the best way to find them when they get lost.

@marguicha I do not know if in the U S a microchip is the law for adoptions of dogs and cats since most of the cats that were adopted by my relatives were from family friends who wanted to give their pet a new home since they could not afford to keep them.

The odds of a family reuniting with their lost pet at an adoption market is a very long shot.

That is so true since the odds of seeing a lost dog at an adoption event is very long.

I know what you mean since I had a dog named Wimpy which given by my late dad and a dog named Cienfuegos which was given by my late mom.
