"Gone Girl" is a psychological thriller which was released in 2014. The movie was a critical and financial success with a budget of $61 million and box office receipts of $369.3 million. Rosamund Pike received a nomination for an Academy Award, BAFTA, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress. David Fincher received a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Director; and Gillian Flynn received a nomination for a Golden Globe, BAFTA and Critics' Choice Award (won) for Best Screenplay. Nick is expecting another scavenger hunt. January 8, 2005 - Nick and Amy meet at a party in New York. He writes for a men's magazine; and she writes personality quizzes for another magazine. Present Day - Nick gets a call from his neighbor saying that his cat is outside. When Nick returns to the house he sees that the table in the living room is flipped over and the glass top is broken. He calls for Amy. When there's no answer, he calls the police. Detective Rhonda Boney and Officer James Gilpin respond. Rhonda sees a small blood spatter above the kitchen range. A walk-through of the house is done; and there is evidence of a struggle and forensic analysis uncovers cleaned bloodstains. They now feel that it's murder; and Nick's lackadaisical attitude has them thinking that he's a sociopath. Nick is brought to the police station. James and Rhonda find it odd that Nick is so indifferent and doesn't know if Amy has any close friends or her blood type. Nick stays at Margo's house while the police go through his home. They find an envelope in a drawer of personal lingerie marked "Clue One". Present Day - Nick is asked about the clue; and he responds that each anniversary they have a scavenger hunt. The first clue leads Nick and Rhonda to his office where they find an envelope on his desk that reads "Clue Two". f you want to find out what happens next, you will have to watch the movie. This story has all sorts of twists and turns and will have you guessing the whole way through. Very interesting; and the story line is done very well. I would highly recommend seeing this movie.
