I wake up not feeling well yesterday. I am not excited to live. I feel low energy. I feel I just want to lie on bed all day. I don't want to face life. I feel there is no reason to live. I realize I'm having depression. I feel so bored that I don't want to do the usual things I do.
In the afternoon I feel better and also today. I realize that I should fight this depression. I should consciously think of happy thoughts. Even if I have problems and I have bad lucks in life there are still so many reasons to be happy. It's important to keep my happiness to have a good energy. Hope I will win this battle

Gee, you seem to be really depressed for saying you are not excited to live. I have nothing much to say except try to enjoy life whatever you may have now.

It's every morning I feel that strange feeling of depression. But as of today I'm conditioning my mind to think of happy thoughts and it seems to help

@averygirl72 that is good - conditioning the mind. I hope that you can master that skill so you can beat the depression.

@averygirl72 Hey.
I am so sorry to read how you've been feeling. I suffer with depression. And I have been suffering for many years now along with having some other unpleasant symptoms that comes along with depression. So please believe me when I say that I understand where you are coming from. My depression has also been hitting me pretty hard lately to the point I just want to lay in my bed and not do anything except just letting time pass by. I'm grouchy and not really looking forward to anything. Also having some intrusive thoughts that a happy person wouldn't have.
You can surely fight depression. But just know that it can be a long and draining battle for some. My advice is to let those who you trust know that you're not feeling so good lately. You are likely to have replies like "Just be happy" or "Just get over it" or maybe even "There is nothing to be sad about." And you know what? As much as those are ignorant responses, they are most likely responses from people who do not suffer with depression. Depression and being depressed are two completely different things so if you wish to speak to people around you, please keep it within a support group you trust and who will make time to understand you and be there for you. Because it makes it even worse reaching out to those who causally sweep you under the rug like it's not a big deal.
I don't have any other advice because I'm still battling! I have Major Depression. But, I still suggest you talk to those around you. And to take it a step further I suggest you speak to a doctor you trust and possibly even a psychologist because they will listen as well as give you techniques for you to use when you are feeling down.
My best wishes to you. I am also here if you're ever comfortable to chat with me. Please remember that it is OK to feel the way you feel. And with the right support, we can fight it together! You will not stand alone so be cautious on who you ask for support so you don't feel as if you're alone in this battle.

Wow that is a long reply. Really you have depression too? My impression about you is you have a very happy life. I have depression when I was young but it don't really bother me. As I grow old and started to work I start to develop more depression. I have many reasons to have depression but I also remember that I also still have many reasons to be happy in life. It was a very sickening feeling when I wake up yesterday. I don't have enthusiasm at all. I also feel very bored about my life. Then in the afternoon I keep thinking of a solution and the solution I think is to fill my mind with happy thoughts. Focus only on the happy things ignore things that can make me sad and it seem to help. Thank you for your kind words. I will see if I have improvement this coming days

@averygirl72 Sorry for the long reply. I'm very passionate about stuff like this. And since I have depression, I feel bad knowing when other people have it.
And yes I have depression and have had it for a majority of my life. Technically my life is so much better nowadays than years ago but that's the thing with depression. You could have a very happy life and still suffer. Depression isn't always about what's going on around you. Sometimes it can be due to a chemical imbalance. But as for me, I think it's safe to say it's from a lot of trauma I've had in my life.
Anyway, I'm very sorry you have it. I think it's a good idea to think happy thoughts BUT please do not sweep the yucky parts under the rug like it doesn't exist. If you suffer with it too much and thinking bad thoughts, that needs to be addressed. Thinking happy thoughts can actually work for some people who suffer with depression but it doesn't work for everyone. I call some techniques "The band-aid fix." Because it only cures you for a short period of time but doesn't cure the real reason that's causing your depression. Sometimes the reason behind our depression needs serious work! Keep doing what you're doing but if there is no improvement then I strongly suggest taking it up a notch to beat this.

It's a struggle and when you feel that way again, please surround yourself with happy people. Call your friends and family and try to distract your thoughts.

I have few friends. I go to my aunt and talk to her. I'm doing my best right now to shake it off me

I suffer from depression myself. The one way I am working to beat depression is to take a short walk around the neighborhood.

@averygirl72 I need to get out of the house myself by taking a short walk since it is ordered by my heart doctor to reverse the effects of prediabetes.

I feel you. there was a time in my life that i felt depressed. you know what I did? I cried it out for two weeks, everyday for two weeks. I talked out my problems to God.
on the third week, I felt good....
Maybe you can do the same. Not all the time we are in the same situation.

You're a grade school teacher. Aren't you? Is it in public? If it is, tomorrow would be the release of your 13th month pay. So you'll be happy about that , won't you?

I don't have a regular job right now. I resigned from my teaching job more than 10 years now. Being jobless causes my depression

I should do something about this. I will get more sick if I linger for a long time with depression. I should strive to be happy
