Day 101 Promise 132 2 Chronicles 1:7 In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, “Ask what I shall give thee.” 8 And Solomon said unto God, “Thou hast showed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead. 9 Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?” 11 And God said to Solomon, “Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honor, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king: 12 Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honor, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like. Everyone dreams but how many people have dreams where God visits with them and talks to them? God visited Abraham, Joseph, and Solomon in dreams. He gave the butler and baker in prison in Egypt dreams. He gave Pharaoh two dreams prior to the famine that brought Israel to Egypt. God showed His purpose in every dream. Always it was about something He was about to do to prepare the people for what was to come. In Solomon’s case, God asked him what He could do for him. Solomon asked for wisdom to rule God’s people. God granted Solomon’s request and gave him more than what he asked for with wealth and honor. God also told Solomon no one would be as wise or as wealthy as he after him. God told the prophet Joel what He would do for those who trusted Him at the time when He poured out His Holy Spirit. Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. (KJV) As Christians, you know this outpouring began in the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit visits His people with dreams and visions. Visions and dreams edify the body of Christ. They let the people know the heart of God. We live in a day when God’s Word is fulfilled daily through the signs and prophecies given by the prophets of the Old Testament. Jesus further prophesied about what was to come and showed His disciples what to look for when the end draws near. Matthew 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. 6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (KJV) When you watch the news, open your newspapers, read the news online, you can see all these signs taking place all over the world. We are in the beginning of what is yet to come. Christians are still prophesying about what is to come. They are still dreaming dreams from God. God isn’t finished yet. His purpose is for every man and woman to hear the Word of God and choose or reject the salvation He provided. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (KJV) Is God giving you dreams and visions? Is He asking you what you want? Go ahead. Let God know what you want. He knows your heart. Let’s pray: Father, You know my heart. You know whether I am faithful to You or not. Let me know Your heart as I walk and talk with You each day. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
