Day 103 Promise 134 2 Chronicles 12:5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus says the LORD, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. 6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The LORD is righteous. 7 And when the LORD saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. 8 Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries. What do you do when everything goes against you? Rehoboam, son of Solomon, king of Judah, forsook God and God sent Shishak, king of Egypt against him. When He did, Rehoboam humbled himself and turned again to God, and God delivered him from the hand of Shishak, king of Egypt. God promised Solomon that when the people humbled themselves and turned to Him, He would hear them, deliver them, and heal the land. God kept His promise to Rehoboam when Rehoboam and the people returned to the Lord. Have you considered your ways when things go wrong? Do you turn your attention back to God and seek His forgiveness? As Christians, you committed yourselves to serve Jesus Christ, God’s Son, and when you disobey, He will bring trouble your way to bring you back to Him. When you confess your sin, God will forgive you. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV) What problems do you face? What do you need to confess? Let’s pray: Father, I know I am a sinner. I know I fall short of Your glory daily. Help me see my sin and humble myself before You, confessing my sin and receive Your forgiveness. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
