I’m Crazy doing it myself

Today’s morning, I dismantled one of the seats we have for long years because I believe there’s no way out it can be repaired via upholstery. Some of the woods supports under were already severely damage as well as the springs so it’s imperative to demolish it totally to reduce things that are not useful. Doing the job is exhausting as usual not to mention the clutters and the set of garbage to be put away after. Sometimes, I have this attitude to do things I thought I can do my own where it would be better if I hire someone to do the job on my behalf. I could have paid someone instead of spending my time and effort and end up exhausted.

I was like that when I was younger, always thinking that I can do anything. But now I just hire someone to do it for me. It is more practical.

@ZedSmart I understand wanting to do things yourself instead of hiring someone to do it for you. I thought of putting something away but thought maybe I will not put it away and other things came up too so I needed my handyman's help. He is a very good guy and like when he comes.

Yes, maybe things like these should be entrusted to truly skilled individuals in their line.

@Hannihar Yes, I already have lessons for that and I should never construct anything that is not my line of work.

Though it's a nice thought to hire someone to do the job for you, it's better to do it yourself and know it's getting done as it should. The exhaustion is worth it when it's finished.

Yes, this is also a very good point Ms. Val. Maybe next time, I will re-assess the condition of my self in doing similar things.

Me too, I also have this attitude to do things I thought I can do. And I end up asking for more hands.

You mean you facilitated it first then calls husband after? Maybe next time you can just ask husband to do it in your behalf.

I feel you. I tried fixing our dining seat myself. I bought a no nail adhesive but all those efforts were futile as the joints still have way. The next thing done was ask a carpenter to put braces under the seat, now I am confident I will not fall from the seat.

At least you call someone to make it sturdy to hold you. It could be dangerous to cause accident.

@florelway That's also the reason why I do it myself because the availability of carpenters are sometimes not according to your plan. If there's something come to my mind, I want to do it immediately and see result.

Yes, you are true. Although those two small seats can still be repaired. I won't throw it away yet.
