Most of my time since the beginning of the last month has been spent in travelling towns and cities.
I returned home a few days back.I was sure that now I will relax at home and do all my works that were left behind undone.
But I was wrong.Yesterday I received a call from my friend who lives in a town in our neighbouring state. He insisted me to attend his birthday.
I am tired and want to relax, but my problem is that I can't turn down his invitation. He is one of my closest friends.
So I will have to attend his birthday.I am preparing for the journey.

If it is going to be a burden--as you make it sound--then if I were your friend I would prefer you didn't and stayed home to get done what you want/need to do and get some rest!

@Shivram59 A friend will understand--all you have to tell him the reason why and set up a future time for getting together. He will have many birthdays that you can help him celebrate!

@GreatMartin I too want to relax and take some rest, but my problem is that this friend of mine never failed to attend any ceremony in my family.I invited him and he always came in time no matter how much busy he was.

@Gracezy Sometimes we all find ourselves in such situations. You can't say "yes",nor can you say "no". In such a situation we are left with no option.

You are a sincere friend!
But I have had to miss attending even the marriages of some of my friends in the past owing to work and other factors.
In one case, it even caused a bit of strain in the relationship.
