"Honeymoon in Vegas" is a comedy that was released in 1992. The movie was met with mixed to positive reviews. The movie and Nicolas Cage were nominated for Golden Globes. The budget for the movie was $25 million; and the box office receipts were $35.2 million.
CAST

1985 - Jack Singer's mother, Bea, makes him promise from her deathbed that he will never get married.
Over the next seven years Jack begins dating Betsy, an elementary school teacher, but isn't ready to get married. Jack works as a New York private detective.
1992 - Betsy threatens to leave if they don't get married. Jack suggests a trip to Las Vegas to get married (since he doesn't want to lose her). In Vegas, a high-stakes gambler, Tommy Korman, sees Betsy; and she looks like his late wife, Donna. Tommy is determined to marry her. Jack decides to relax by gambling a bit. Tommy lures Jack into a high-stakes, fixed poker game.
Jack is dealt a straight flush, Jack high, only to lose to a straight flush, Queen high. Jack had borrowed $65,000 and has lost it all. Tommy says that he will wipe out the debt if Betsy will spend a weekend with him. Jack agrees. Betsy is livid when she hears the news; but Tommy charms her; and she agrees. He tells her that they will be spending the weekend at his estate in Kauai. Jack realizes what a mistake he's made and asks Betsy to marry him now. Betsy says if he was serious they would already be married. Betsy flies to Kauai; and Jack flies to New York.
If you want to know what happens next, you'll have to watch the movie. James Caan is not a favorite actor of mine; but I enjoyed the movie in spite of the character he plays. There's plenty of comedy and action in this movie; and I recommend that you see it.
This movie is rated PG-13.

Oh you make me want to see it--Caan is not a favorite of mine either--but the premise sounds entertaining!
