The dangers of a small yard.

When I was about 8 (everything seems to happen when I'm 8!) I was playing in the backyard. We had a very small back yard then, with no lawn, but just a square piece of garden for flowers. My step-dad was doing some gardening and he'd left the rake out by the flower bed. So what did I do? I tripped and fell on the rake! (Ouch!) I went running inside the house screaming "Mummy! I fell on the rake!" Blood was trickling down my leg! My Mum dabbed it with a wet cloth and put a plaster on it and I was fine, but if you look closely, even now you can still see the scar!

I bet that was scary to both you and Mum. Glad you were okay in the end.
Yes I have a few scars from childhood too Sharon.

It was terribly painful! The rake went right in just below the knee!

If you have a bigger yard then you there will be small closed shed to store garden tools, am I right?

Oh, we had a small shed, but the rake was out because my step-dad was using it.

That kind of negligence makes me mad whenever I see that in our home. Although we do not have a rake but some other things left outside.
