National Family Caregiver Day National Jukebox Day 1895 - In Paris, Alfred Nobel signs his last will and testament, setting aside his estate to establish the Nobel Prize after he dies. 1924 - In New York, the first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is held. 1942 - Jimi Hendrix was born. He was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. His career only lasted a few years; but he is widely regarded as one of the most influential guitarists in history and one of the most celebrated musicians of the 20th century. At the time, he was the world's highest paid performer. He headlined the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. He was active from 1963 until 1970 when he died of drug-related asphyxia at the age of 27. 1940 - Bruce Lee was born. He was an American-Chinese actor, martial artist, screenwriter, director, martial arts instructor and philosopher. He was considered by many to be the most influential martial artist of all time.
