GOODBYE!

It’s almost a week ago that I bought the wrong color of blades for the old ceiling fan that I want to use. There’s a mismatch of colors because the base is read and the replacement blades are white. By the way, I thank my fellow myLotters for their suggestions and I appreciate it much. However, when I try to attach the blades, I noticed that the combination of colors is not bad at all so I decided that no need to change one of its colors just to achieve the uniform look. So up the ceiling, the fan is hanging and prettily functioning. But as people often say, all things have an end. And today, the fan has render its last duty because while it’s in use, the fan motor explode and finally went off (don’t worry, it was just slow and does no harm). I’m now certain that it’s really time to junk the fan and get a new one.

Yes Louise. It's finally given up. I may not have use it in the first place because I think it's more than two years being put to stand by.

@ZedSmart but you didn't give up that easily. That's worth a try.

I could have thrown in anyway but I thought that maybe, it can still be of use so I tested it before buying those new blades and yes it was but I'm not aware that for only a short duration.

Oh that is too bad you have bought new blades for it but then the motor gave in so it's really better to replace the who fan than have it repaired. I remember that I have an uncle that really won't give up on any broken fan and he will have it repaired until the body is really unusable. Even the motor he will have it repaired and rewinded if needed to have the fan in good condition again.

@ZedSmart Yeah he was(bless his soul). Now that he is gone our old fans would not be brought to the fan repair anymore since he is not around anymore. I am not that eager to bring those old fans that are not running anymore. I would rather replaced it with a new one than have it repaired since most will not last a very long time.

Careful when it comes to fans, especially the ceiling fans Electrical short circuit can cause real harm.

You can sell it as junk but actually if it's something special, the fan motor could always be rewinded, fans could always be restored but again that is up to you.

Thank you for the suggestion but I already given it up to the roving garbage collector. Now, it's up to him.

Good that it has come to a good end. Wish we could see the picture of the color combination.

I'm sorry but I'd given it already to the roving garbage collector. They can sell the plastic parts.

@ZedSmart It's okay. It served enough and now you will get a new one.

It's OK. Good thing that it did not cause damage because I was there when it happens so I immediately detach the plug.
