Good morning everyone, While I was on social media this morning I read that some millennials don't like workplace gift giving traditions, like Christmas time's "Secret Santa". However, instead of asking simply to opt out, they want them banned. I am interested to know what my connections here think on the topic.

They can't stop gift giving in the workplace. I used to enjoy giving gifts to my coworkers.

That seems ridiculous. A lot of people really like this tradition. Why would they want it banned? Doesn't make much sense to me at all.

Gift giving is one of the holiday traditions. If they don't want to do it, they don't have to. Just don't ruin it for everybody.

it is called monito-monita or exchange gifts in our country. i've had officemates who asked to opt out because it's against their religion. so i agree, just opt out. don't demand a ban before asking what everyone else (top to bottom) wants. and how about you? what's your own take on this?

Most everything is becoming banned these days, even our words. Crazy.
