No Swimming at the Swimming Pool

LOL! That’s only for me as the rest have enjoyed their moments in the waters.
Yesterday, my friend insisted that I should come to the birthday of her younger daughter which was held at one of the pool and resorts here. I did attend later at the afternoon because I have some things to get done first. The waters are tempting and I really want to have good moments there but I can’t. It’s pointless to only soak my body in the water as I was advised by my ENT to do not engage any swimming activity up to this time because my perforated eardrum was not totally healed yet. I was told then that the entire ear drum was torn and I should undergo surgical repair but I refused because I’m hopeful that the hole will heal over time by its own. During my latest check up, the doctor says that the hole this time is about 20%.

Ouch, a perforated eardrum needs to be repaired. But I'm glad to hear that it can do self-healing, as you said.

@ZedSmart what was the cause of the perforation? Did you go deep sea diving?

@Alexandoy I was surprised because it's the mucus that suppose to pass thru the nose lead its way there causing it to rupture.

it's much better not to risk it. do you cover it when you take a bath? do you put medication in it?

I cover it with cotton ball dab with baby oil. For now, no more medication but I was advised to have a check when something unusual. I'm now used with that ringing sound because it's now minimal but there were times that it would become louder a bit and I find it uncomfortable.

Yes give it some more time, some doctors at times are just too eager to make an invasive procedure.
