Do you associate certain things, meals, drinks or places with specific people? I do. Often some things, places, even meals cause memories of certain people. One certain soup to me is associated with memories about kindergarten, and soft pancakes - with my grandmother, only she was able to bake such soft ones. And so on, and so on... Not long ago, I was in Hurghada, Egypt, so our hotel had such a smell of something that brought memories from may more than 20 years ago when I got a gift - a cosmetic box and it has the same smell. I do not know how that hotel keeps this smell all teh time, it looks that smell vibrates in the air, but just my nose recognized it, I was transferred years ago, to the long past.
