Little Miss and I watch Welcome to Plattsville, and her and I both shake our heads over just how sheltered they have there kids, even the adult children. I understand wanting to protect a child, but you have to prepare them for the world too.
It’s a bit much I think to have a child so sheltered that they have no idea how to stand on their own two feet when they are out on the world, and honestly I think some of what they are doing is borderline cruel.

Being over protective always harms the child.

I agree, they need to learn to cope early.

They do, they need to have the tools to help themselves in case something happens!

It is very important for children to know what is out there and how to make it on their own in this world

These children are so sheltered that even the adult children are afraid of their parents!

I was always sheltered; and I was in for a rude awakening in the real world. I didn't know how to handle all the freedom.

I am a strict no for over protective bringing up. Helicopter parenting can be destructive at times.
