Visit from my nephews

Today we had a visit from my nephews. My brother phoned us at about 3:15pm to say they'd be coming round around 5:30pm. We thought they'd be bringing our Christmas presents and we'd be giving them ours, but we hadn't wrapped them yet! Infact, we'd only bought some of them the day before! So, we had just over two hours to pack the presents! We ran into the dining room and started wrapping them on the dining room table in earnest! I helped my Mum to wrap them, holding bits of wrapping paper in place when needed, passing bits of celotape, etc. And I'd write the tallys for the presents for the ones that were off me while Mum was wrapping them! We had just one more to wrap and it was 5:10pm when they came! They're here! I shouted! We went into the living room and closed the dining room door so that they couldn't see anything and Mum said "Did you want to take the presents today?" and Ali said, "No, it doesn't matter! We were going to pop round again before Christmas. We haven't finished ours anyway!" We needn't have rushed to do that wrapping after all!
