He probably scared the Dickens out of her

Catherine Hogarth must have been startled at first when her soon-to-be husband, Charles Dickens, jumped through the french windows of her family home, danced a hornpipe jig before leaping out the window again, all while wearing a sailor suit.
She must have thought he was "quite mad" to then walk sedately to the front door and gain entrance into the home as if he had not previously acted so silly.
I wonder what Catherine would have thought of Maria Beadnell, Charles' first love, drunkenly kissing the seat where he had once sat?
Now, what do you think of all that? Truth or Fiction?

@BarBaraPrz You know, I read your response twice before I commented, but it's only now that it really sunk in. I read "beats" as another word for music and so I was confused. I realize you meant it as "better than" now.
Silly me!
But yes, I agree with you, definitely beats being proposed to via jumbotron.
