Day 136
Promise 186
Psalm 24:3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place?
4 He who hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive the blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
What do you need to do to be worthy of heaven, God’s grace, and His forgiveness?
From David’s description of those worthy to stand in God’s presence, it appears no one could. He even said no one was righteous.
Psalm 14:1 (To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.) The fool hath said in his heart, ‘There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that does good.’
2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that does good, no, not one.
As Christians, you know God made a way for you to come into God’s presence through the blood of Jesus, His Son, shed on Calvary.
Paul showed that without Jesus no one would seek God or want to stand in His presence.
Romans 3:10 As it is written, ‘There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none who understands, there is none that seeks after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.
Paul then showed what our sin does.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (KJV)
Romans 5:8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)
Therefore, there is hope you can stand in the presence of God.
Romans 10:8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, ‘Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.’
Who can ascend God’s holy hill and stand in His presence? All those who recognize their sin, confess it and acknowledge Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Yet, there is still a problem. You are still sinners. How can you stand before God with your sin covering you?
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (KJV)
Every day, you confess your sin to God and God will forgive you. With His forgiveness, you can stand in His presence. You can ascend the holy hill of God. He doesn’t see your sin. He sees the blood of Jesus covering you making you clean.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for providing a way for me to stand in Your presence. Forgive me as I confess my sin with a pure heart. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I know God is forgiving for those repentant and faithful to Him.
