Some of the best conversations are ones I've had in my head

Some of the best conversations I've had with people are the ones I've thought about before actually speaking. Sometimes it's because the outcome comes out better in my head than it will / I think it will in real life. Sometimes it's just that the discussions I have in my head with these people are easier than if I actually spoke to them out loud. Weird, isn't it? How those things go. Do you ever have discussions with other people in your head? Do you ever think you've told someone something because you thought about it but didn't actually say it out loud?

Yep, same here. I also find that I agree with most everything I say.

I have them out loud with myself as if another person was there. Really embarrassing if someone catches me!

@ScribbledAdNauseum When I am out and someone catches me talking to myself I usually turn it into a cough

I have also done this. I've done it when I am in the grocery store as well. Usually things like "Okay Amber, no you don't need this." or "Don't forget the get the coupon."

@sprite1950 That's one way to play it off for sure. There has been a time or two that people have caught me and commented on it. That was embarrassing.

I know exactly what you mean. You have a conversation all planned out in your head and when you actually talk to the person, it comes out gibberish. Why, I don't know.

Yes! Exactly! That is how it is for me. Or, sometimes they will interrupt and get my train of thought derailed. Does that happen to you too?

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, and I am guilty of doing it. I must have ADD because I often go on a rabbit trail during a conversation.

@akalinus I don't know. I don't have ADD but I do the tendency to think of five million different things at once.

Joyce Meyer always says to apologize even if you are not wrong. So, often, I tell myself that I am not going to kiss that person's behind. But, do you want a peaceful atmosphere? Or do you want tons of toxicity to deal with?

I don't really have a lot of toxicity to deal with, atleast not anymore. There are some things that I can't help or change, and have to deal with because I know that the person does the best he can. Even so, sometimes I find myself going over the conversation in my head either before or after.

The only conversations I have in my head is with the characters in my books.

I have conversations in my head with characters, but I rarely ever write any of it down.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Usually they're letting me know what they think of the storyline, like one night last week when my main character yelled at me and called me brainless.
