Clark Griswold wants to take the family on a trip from Chicago to southern California to go to Wally World, "America's Family Fun Park". Ellen, his wife, wants to fly; but Clark is determined to spend time with his family. He has a new car on order; but when he gets to the dealership he discovers that they have sent the wrong car. What was sent was a Wagon Queen Family Truckster in an ugly green. Clark is forced to take the car since they already compacted his old car. Ed, the car salesman says, "You think you hate it now but wait until you drive it".
Their trip is one mishap after another.
They stop in Coolidge, Kansas, to visit Ellen's Cousin Catherine and her husband, Eddie. During a Bar-B-Q of mostly Hamburger Helper on the grill and Kool-Aid stirred with Cousin Vicki's hand, the Griswolds find out that they must take grumpy Aunt Edna and her mean dog, Dinky, to her son Norman's house in Phoenix, Arizona.
Upon leaving Colorado, Ellen loses her bag which has the credit cards in it.
If you want to find out what happens next, you will have to watch the movie. Another good movie comes out of the 1980s. It has all the components to be a winner...a script by the great John Hughes, directed by Harold Ramis and starring the funny Chevy Chase. Co-stars Anthony Michael Hall and John Candy are also in the movie, which give it another thumbs up. This is a funny, funny movie that you can watch several times. If you are one of the people that has never seen this movie, I highly recommend it.
This movie is Rated R.
