We are aproaching the 20th anniversary of the day the world stood still...or at least held its breath.
A new year, a new decade, a new century, a new Millennium. Now THAT was a party!
It was also the day Y2K held the technological and business worlds in a choke hold. People were unsure what would happen when the clock struck midnight on 2000. The western world should have released some tension when nothing crashed in the eastern world who had experienced it first. But then, Wall Street is in New York so the tensions remained.
Where were you and what were you doing on the last night of the old millennium? Were you worried? I wasn't.

Thank you for the song. No, I was not worried I was celebrating with my soul mate and family in Riga Latvia. Now he is gone and memories just remain.

Yeah, I remember that hype on the Y2K bug. Months before the end of 1999, I had written the 3 major newspapers here that there is no risk on the so called Y2K bug because only antiquated computer programs will be affected. But my letters were not published. The hype went on and even the bank where I was working for had us work overtime on Dec 31. But nothing happened. Too much ado about nothing.

Yes. I agree. Tensions were high until midnight in Times Square New York and nothing happened. Double the fireworks on that night.

No clue where I was but certainly know who I was with. If I had to guess, I would say at home with family. We don't "party" waiting for the next year.
