Devotees offer elephant foot yam in Harbola temple in Digha to Goddess Kali. The yam is called ol in Bengali. Devotees offer puja and at the end of the puja have prasad from the temple. Priests ask for the names of the persons, gotras and offer the puja in the Kali temple.

Thanks Rajji merry Christmas and happy new year. For example I am Dr Souvik Chatterji. If puja is given in my name then my surname Chatterji bear Kashyap Gotra. So the priest ask for the gotra to give the puja in that gotra.
