Shivering winter tales: Delhi temperature dips to a low of 2.5 C and makes us like a lazy sloth bear!

Record breaking cold. Coldest spell in many years. Lowest Mean maximum temperatures in December after 1997. All these do matter for the National Capital of India- Delhi. And to add salt to the wound, we had a low of 2.5 C on Saturday, 28th December. (For the records, it was the coldest December day in two decades!). It is now almost like England where I used to observe a constant 9 max and 2/3 C minimums. Yet we do not have the central heating system, except may be in some ultra rich houses, or some offices. The cold is discomforting. Taking bath even with closed doors and geyser becomes a grind. Many a times, one has to wear cap inside the house as well. I felt quite uneasy on 28th evening, and my guess was right- the temperature was dipping heavily. I feel like a lazy sloth bear at times, and unwilling to do many things. As I am typing, my hands feel cold, but I am able to resist wearing gloves, as that would make typing tough. And I saw some YouTube videos showing sunny and warmer weather in some hills in North India(not all). What a surprise? Anyways, to summarize, we are shivering!! Brrrr.......... News source:
