I have been organizing my meds.

My daughter helps me out with one of the pills I take. She can get them for free as they are samples that labs give to doctors. Each box has 2 pills, enough for a day. I have to open the box, take out the pills, throw away a lot of boxes made with cellulose from trees. Labs give doctors their meds so that they prescribe the more expensive ones instead of the general brands. The labs collect the prescriptions at the drugstores and invite doctors who have offered their patients the expensive drugs to medical reunions in Cancun. Shame! We are one of the countries with more expensive meds. And this is part of what has to be changed NOW! At this time of my life, I am glad that I have a daughter who can get me part of my meds. I cannot go to protests but I agree with many of them.

Doctors have made this professional, once considered very noble, a dirty business. Thanks for pointing it out.

I´m glad that I know a couple of doctors who still spend part of their time attending poor patients for free. Humberto is one of them.

It's a real problem in the US as well. I didn't know that the labs collect the prescriptions. I always wondered how that worked.

Here meds are sold 10 times as high as in our neighbor countries.
