1927 - The first subway line in Asia, the Ginza Line, opens in Tokyo, Japan.
1936 - The UAW (United Auto Workers) union stages its first sitdown strike in the United States.
1914 - Bert Parks was born. He was an American actor, singer, radio and TV announcer. Parks is best known for hosting the Miss America Pageant TV broadcasts from 1955-1979. He passed away in 1992.
1942 - Michael Nesmith was born. He is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, actor, producer, writer, businessman and philanthropist. He is best known for being a member of the pop rock band The Monkees (1966-68) and also appeared in the television show of the same name.
1945 - Davy Jones was born. He was an English singer, songwriter, musician, actor and businessman. He was also a member of The Monkees band and the TV show. He passed away in 2012.

Now I want a BLT sandwich!!! Of course no bacon in the house, tomatoes or lettuce!! Ha! I do need to go grocery shopping. I think I will send hubby tomorrow while I take mom for her CT scan. I'll just give him list of things we are totally out of and need before the weekend.

Bacon is something that most people want to celebrate! Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith were two of my heroes growing up:)
