NEEDLES

For some even the word will send shivers down their spin or make their stomach turn over with unease. Fortunately I am not squeamish. Bones (my boyfriend for those of you who don't know) however is not so lucky. It is not the taking things out that is the problem for him though it is the things going in.
Bones had to have a cortisone injection into his shoulder he had bursitis which for you that don't know in an inflammation of the fluid filled padding in your joint that cushions it from impacts.
The injection was guided by an ultrasound which of course I was engrossed in and thought it was really cool...bones made the mistake of sneaking a peek too.
After the injection he went really pale and yes he did pass out. Being 7ft tall he is really quite difficult to move when he is a dead weight. It took 7 people to move him including me!
The woman that gave him the injection told me I was the most endearing partner she had seen as most just rolled their eyes if their male partner passed out. She also told me I looked very worried the truth is I wasn't worried because he had passed out as I knew that was a possibility eventhough he didn't tell me that. I was worried because when he passed out he went completely rigid. He told me that is how his body gets when he sleeps alone it was something his body learnt to do after living with his abusive father. The thing is I had just come from a forensics class and in the class they informed us that rigor mortis can have immediate onset and the way he fell made him seem dead. I did get over it as soon as I realised he was breathing but he gave me a good scare...
Does anyone have a fear of needles?
