I am scratching my head wondering where was the adult supervision of a six year old boy who jumped into a lake that was in the temperature range F of 36 degrees recently in Alexander County North Carolina today?
Three carpenters who were working on remodeling a lake house happened to take action to heed the cries of a six year old boy who was having a hard time trying to get out of a lake took action to stop their work activity to make a rescue of the child who was in danger of drowning in a cold lake.
Scott Lingerfelt who was one of the three carpenters risked his life by jumping into the lake wearing his work clothes to swim 40 yards to take the child to the shore where a sibling and a homeowner named James Wycoff who called the police to inform them of the incident and one of the other carpenters named Jason Sutherland managed to take the young boy out of the lake safe and sound.
The six year old boy was taken to the Catawba Medical Center in Hickory North Carolina where he will make it from his near death scare.
The Alexander County Sheriff's Office will reward the Good Samaritans for their rescue work of a six year old boy who will think twice before jumping into a cold lake in the near future.

I agree with you since the three carpenters were at the right place at the right time at the area of the lake.

They were likely inside the home telling the brother of the six year old child to watch his younger brother.

That is wonderful but where was the boy's mother and why in the world would he have jumped into a cold lake?

I guess that the six year old child and his brother left the home without permission of their parents.

The carpenters are to be commended for saving the child. Where were the parents?

I have no idea since the story did not mention where they were at the time of the incident. They were most likely inside the home telling the sibling of the six year old to watch over his brother.
