Freedom from physical therapy after nearly six months! I love that! Something else I love is music, and I’m counting down to Valentines Day with country and rock songs that have “love” in the title. I love all these songs, but the last ten days will be the “top ten” favorites. Meanwhile, I’m chugging along in alphabetical order by artist. Here’s today’s country song. Be My Love - Browns It still looks like this is chronological, doesn’t it? Hey, I’ve made it all the way through the 1950s! I remember hearing Jim Ed Brown on a WSM interview say that his friend, Jim Reeves, once told him that if anything happened to him (Reeves) RCA would make him (Brown) “the next Jim Reeves.” This beautiful ballad, first recorded in the early days of the “Nashville Sound” era then re-recorded when “The Three Bells” became a massive hit, shows that Reeves knew what he was talking about. The thing was, Reeves left so many demos when he was killed in a 1964 plane crash that RCA was able to release “new” recordings well into the 1980s, thereby not necessitating a “next Jim Reeves.” That’s okay, because Jim Ed did quite well on his own, first with his sisters then as a successful solo and duet singer. The Browns were inducted into the Hall of Fame shortly before Jim Ed passed away from cancer in 2015. Last year Maxine, the eldest of the Browns, died, leaving “the three bells” silent after a career of stunning music that changed seamlessly with the times in the 50s. Be My Love Written by A.E. Barnard Recorded by the Browns From The Browns Sing “The Three Bells” EP, 1959 Day by day (this is the first recorded version, which wasn’t released until the box set came out):
PIC Shows L-R Maxine, Jim Ed and Bonnie (Written by Arnold Baynard). UNISSUED - Released on CD Box Set (1993). Recorded 20 September 1957 [23:00 - 02:00] RCA...

That is classic. Your best comeback since you asked me if I was Amish because I’d never seen the first Rocky film.

I love your posts. I still think you should submit them to an official music publication.

Different song completely. Just the same title.

It has more of a 50s Your Hit Parade pop ballad sound than country.

No surprise. I'm not familiar with the group or song.
