Thanks to the publicity from the news media that reported the news that 58 year old Martin O' Connor who had been hiking by himself in the Grand Canyon National Park in Grand Canyon Arizona, a National Park Service ranger found Martin in the South Rim of the canyon 11 days after he was reported missing.
Martin was found at the South Rim of the park which is open all year by the park rangers after a hiker saw someone who looked like Martin in the area hiking by himself.
When Martin was found safe and sound by the park ranger, he was airlifted out of the region of the park to a local hospital where he is being checked out by doctors to see if he is okay.
Martin is excepted to make a full recovery since he is in good physical condition to survive 11 days in the canyon region.
The National Park Service rangers are suggesting that a hiker should be in the company of another hiker since walking around the Grand Canyon by oneself is a recipe for danger.

Despite the bad rap the get from some people, the local media does a great job of altering people in their community when someone needs help.

@Deepizzaguy media has dual role to make the readers happy or sad. Worse to get angry and become rebellious.

The park rangers do issue the advice for the good of the hikers to avoid getting in trouble or lost in a park.

I am glad he was found but personally I think hiking alone is asking for trouble

That is true since these parks are huge and someone can get lost.

Martin is lucky that the ranger found him. Hiking alone is not wise.

Hopefully Martin will learn his lesson to hike with a partner or group in the future.
