Handmade Packaging

I put up my stretch bracelets for sale on eBay. I want to put on a personal touch in my packaging so I thought of making them instead of buying ready-made ones. I have a bunch of craft paper and I was able to find a pattern online for small boxes. After 3 hours, I was able to create 8 boxes to package my 8 bracelets for shipping. I am happy with how they turned out, and I am glad I went on this route instead of going for plastic packaging. I try to keep my plastic usage as minimal as possible. Of course I will be using the post office's plastic pack to ship these, but at least the buyer will not have a ton of plastic packaging to dispose. It may not be much, but I try to be conscious of producing plastic wastes.

That is nice of you. I like when I receive recycled materials from sellers. It makes me feel good knowing that they try to be environmentally conscientious. I am also more likely to buy from them in the future.

@ScribbledAdNauseum that would be very useful. I never thought of searching for alternatives in YouTube - thanks for giving me an idea. I am not a full time eBay seller and I just use it to sell my stuff that I never get to use or no longer use so there’s really no income there. Nevertheless I still would like to provide a good service up until shipment.

Thank you, I just want to do my part in my own small way. It benefits me too as it is cheaper than buying plastic packaging. I am not creative nor crafty but I enjoyed making these.

@Raine38 I am not very crafty either. I saw one lady on youtube use a packaging that was recyclable. I wish I knew what it was. I believe it was made from recyclable material, but she stretched it and it turned into a mesh.

Took a little doing, but you finished it and did something good for the environment, which is a rewarding feeling. I understand for when I don't use water while soaping up, it feels good to do something for the future and the environment.Good job!

Thank you, and good for you for doing what you can for our environment. For me, it may not be much but at least it's a start.

@oahuwriter I agree! Plus it helps with minimizing clutter around our house which will free me some time to do something else, which would otherwise be devoted to picking up and tidying up. But I am taking baby steps. I am not where I want to be yet in terms of minimizing clutter and trash that our household produces - but hopefully someday soon I’ll get there.

@Raine38 It's always a very good idea to be environmentally aware and helpful for now and for future generations to come.

Thank you! This is the first time I have done something like this as I am not creative and crafty. But I had fun doing this, and please it's cheaper than the plastic packaging.

That is my next project. Or try to make recycled paper on my own. I know how to do it, but I do not have the supplies.
