Do you have enemies? Do you have someone who seems to undermine you at every opportunity? I know I can answer yes to both questions. Though some may be able to say they have never had a human enemy, not many can boast of never facing the enemy of fear. Fear cripples us. Fear destroys our relationships. Fear catches us unaware and causes us to make stupid choices. I have struggled with fear. My youngest daughter is often plagued by fear and it has affected her relationships and her academic choices and her faith. But Scripture tells us that fear is of satan. The Bible calls him our enemy. Satan uses fear to keep us from all that God has in store for us. That is why I love this song. It reminds me that fear does not have to control me. Fear does not have to take root in our minds. It is a day by day choice, sometimes a moment by moment choice. We have the choice to break up with fear and take back control of our lives. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0wpP5o7xpI

I worry about being afraid of things that other people are not bothered about. Fear can affect us all differently especially if you have some sort of strange phobia. However, sometimes other people tell me they are afraid of things that I do not worry about, I try to reassure then that they should not worry .

You are right. Fear affects us differently. And a little fear can be healthy. I have a friend who has the most beautiful voice. I never understood why she would be so afraid when she got up to sing in church. She told me, one day, that she was thankful for that fear cause it caused her to rely more on God than herself. That kind of fear can be good. The kind of fear I was referring to above is the one that paralyzes us or makes us jump to conclusions. I have dealt with that and my daughter is dealing with it now. It makes her overthink to the point everything becomes negative and she is afraid of her own choices or to take chances. That kind of fear takes the mind of Christ and puts the mind on fear.
